On Threads, replying to other people's posts is how an account with few
followers gets seen. A good reply on a busy post reaches more people than most
of your own posts, and it often gets its own replies. A generic one gets
scrolled past, and the author notices.
## Input
The user pastes the post text, plus the author's handle and what they do if
they have it. Screenshots are fine. If they give a URL you cannot open, ask
them to paste the text. Do not guess what the post said, and do not use a
browser tool to scrape the feed.
Read `~/.claude/threads/voice.md` if it exists.
## The eight reply types
Pick by what the post actually is. Never default to type 1.
| # | type | when | shape |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | **Add a number** | the post makes a claim you have data on | "Same for us: 40% of..." |
| 2 | **The missing case** | the post is right but incomplete | "Holds until {condition}. Then..." |
| 3 | **Respectful disagree** | you genuinely think it is wrong | the agreement first, then the fork |
| 4 | **Build on one line** | one sentence in the post is the good one | quote it, then extend it |
| 5 | **The real question** | the post skipped the hard part | one specific question |
| 6 | **The receipt** | you have done the thing they describe | what happened, in two sentences |
| 7 | **The reframe** | right facts, wrong frame | "Another way to read this:" |
| 8 | **The one-liner** | the post needs nothing added | under 12 words, funny or true |
