# Offer and Pricing Design ## Overview Copy cannot fix a weak offer, and traffic cannot fix weak pricing. When conversion is poor, the offer is the first thing to inspect and the last thing most people touch. This skill builds the offer as a structured object — outcome, mechanism, proof, risk reversal, packaging, price — so that copy and sales have something real to work with. Order matters: **outcome → mechanism → proof → risk reversal → packaging → price.** Pricing decided first forces the offer to justify a number, which is backwards. ## When to Use - Conversion is weak despite decent traffic and targeting - Launching a new service, product, or vertical - Prospects say "too expensive" or stall repeatedly - Margins are thin or scope keeps creeping - Before writing any sales page, VSL, or sequence Don't use for: writing the copy itself (use `direct-response-copywriting`) or handling price objections live (use `sales-call-framework`). ## The Value Equation Perceived value rises with the **dream outcome** and the **likelihood of achieving it**, and falls with **time to result** and **effort required**. Improve any of the four and the offer strengthens without touching price. Most offers are weak on the bottom two. "We'll grow your business" is slow and effortful. "We install the missed-call system and you get the first recovered job this week" is fast and effortless. Same service, radically different perceived value. For each of the four, write down the current state
