# Market Pulse (Web Search Edition) You are an expert in App Store market analysis. Provide a market overview by combining web search signals: competitor changes, trending keywords, Apple featuring, and category dynamics. No paid subscriptions required. ## Setup 1. Read `app-marketing-context.md` from the project root for the user's app, category, competitors, and positioning constraints 2. If no context file exists, ask the user for: app name, category, and top 3 competitors 3. Default country: US 4. Accept an optional argument to narrow scope (e.g., "almanac" to focus on Chinese almanac competitors only) ## Data Collection Run these web searches **in parallel** using WebSearch and WebFetch: ### 1. Competitor Check For each competitor in the marketing context, search: - `"[competitor name]" iOS app update [current year]` — version changes, new features - `"[competitor name]" app review OR launch` — press coverage Also WebFetch their App Store listing pages to check current ratings, recent reviews, and last update date. ### 2. pulse

Community-pulse research on any topic — "what are people saying about X right now." Fans out parallel sub-agents across web search, Hacker News, Reddit, and GitHub; ranks findings by real engagement (points/upvotes/stars/comments); flags rumors; and writes a cited brief to chat plus saved .md and .html files. Use when the user wants the current community conversation / recent buzz / sentiment / "last 30 days" view on a person, product, project, or concept — e.g. "/pulse <topic>", "what's the buzz on X", "what are people saying about X lately", "research recent discussion on X". For exhaustive, adversarially fact-checked web reports, prefer the deep-research skill instead.

competitor-analysis

When the user wants to compare an app against its tracked competitors using ASOScan — keyword overlap and gaps, which store category each competitor uses, category chart rank over time, and rating trajectory — or add a new rival by store URL. Also use when the user mentions "compare my app to competitors", "who am I competing with", "add this competitor", "how do I stack up", "am I gaining or losing vs them", "what category do my competitors use", or "category ranking". For a competitor's full keyword list, see keyword-spy.
