targeting-named-person-not-inboxlisted

Treats role mailboxes (hr@, info@, sales@, careers@) as dead ends and finds named decision owners with work emails and phones. Use when a lead or referral points to a shared inbox, or when building a contact list for an account.

# A shared inbox is not a contact. Find the names yourself. An address like `hr@`, `info@`, `careers@`, `support@`, `people@` or `sales@` is never counted as a contact, in a message, a CRM or a report. An account is open when a named person is attached to it. When someone refuses to name the owner and points to the inbox, that is your cue to find the people yourself. ## Why In our own work a friendly contact inside a target company said "write to the HR inbox, it's very active and they will assign the ticket to the right person". Asked directly who owns the decision, he gave no name. We read that as a route and told our side "no need to look for a name". Five days later an auto-reply arrived with a ticket number: still in the queue, no intro. The real owners came up in about a minute of search. The cost: five days lost, a spent referral, and an apology. Confidence from an insider about their own process is an opinion from the inside. It does not verify anything. ## How to apply 1. When pointed to a shared inbox, ask once for a name. If none comes, stop waiting. 2. Map the people around the decision: the owner, their manager, the adjacent function. 3. Search a people database (Apollo or similar) and LinkedIn for current titles. 4. Pull work emails and mobile numbers. Some providers return phones asynchronously: if the API stays silent, open the person's record in the provider's web app and request the number there. 5. Deliver a list: name, title, LinkedIn URL, work email,
