# A job post is a reason to write only when they hire in sales A vacancy counts as a signal when four things are true at once: the role is in sales or growth, the company sells to businesses, the person you write to owns revenue, and you hold the exact line from the post with where and when you saw it. ## Why In our own sending, one test run had 20 first touches and 11 of them opened with "saw your vacancy". None of the 11 had a stored source. One recipient asked "where did you see that vacancy?" and we had nothing to show. The real post was for a social media manager, the person was only listed as the contact for applications, and the company sold to consumers. The same question could have come from all 11. An invented reason costs more than a missed lead. It spends the only first attempt you get with that person, and it proves a robot wrote the message. ## How to apply 1. Read the job post itself, not a summary from a data provider. 2. Check the role. Valid: SDR, BDR, BDM, account executive, head of sales, growth lead, commercial director. Everything else (marketing, content, SMM, support, design, engineering, assistant) is out, in any wording. 3. Check who the company sells to. A consumer product has nothing for a B2B outbound offer to attach to. Drop it. 4. Check the recipient. The contact named in the post usually handles applications. Write to the person who owns sales (founder, CEO, head of sales), found separately. 5. Store the source with the lead before queueing
