# HyperClip — stick-figure explainer video pipeline
Guide the user through 8 stages. Three of them are manual (voice-over, transcription, image
generation) because those services have no usable API — hand off cleanly and wait.
## On every invocation
1. `ls` the working directory for job folders (`00X-<slug>/`)
2. Read `topic-plan.md` if it exists (the topic queue + per-job status)
3. Work out which stage the newest job is at (see **Stage detection** below)
4. Report every job's status in one short table, plus any queued topics
5. Ask: **new clip** or **continue an existing one?**
6. Whenever a topic is chosen or proposed, **update `topic-plan.md`**
> **Working mode: one step at a time.** End every stage by stating explicitly:
> what stage we're on now / what the user must do next / where to put the resulting file.
> Never skip a stage. Never ask about two things at once.
## Job folder naming
```
002-why-you-forget-why-you-entered-a-room
^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
run lowercase English slug, hyphen-separated
```
- Run number = 3 digits, next after the newest job
- **The slug must be English.** Non-ASCII folder names break shell pipelines and ffmpeg
- Create the folder the moment the user picks a topic (end of STAGE 1)

## STAGE 1 — Propose topics
Offer **5 viral topics** as a `| # | Video Title |` table, then close with:
> **Which one do you want to develop? Answer with a number (1–5).**
Stop. Wait.
