# Taerv Entry Editing Use this skill when modifying this repository's dictionary entry files. ## Editing principle Check the surrounding file and entry before editing. This project currently has two marker styles, and both are valid in existing files: - Legacy style: use `>` for reference-book lines and `-` for definition lines. - Newer style: use `*` for reference-book lines and `+` for definition lines. Default output target: - Directly edit or create the final dictionary entry files under the letter directories (`a/` ... `z/`). - Do not write new extracted entries into `tae_xien_temp/tae_xien_temp.txt` unless the user explicitly asks for temporary staging there. - When modifying an existing entry that is in legacy style, convert that entry to newer style in the same edit (use `+` for meanings and `*` for sources/section markers). - Do not mix the two marker styles within the same entry. ## Entry skeleton Typical entry structure: ```md # 中文词条 zhon1 ven2 txe:zhon1 ven1 > 参考文献 - 义项一 - 例句一/例句解释 - 例句二 - 义项二 ``` The same structure may also appear in newer files as: ```md # 中文词条 zhon1 ven2 txe:zhon1 ven1 + 义项一 * 通用 - 例句一 * 参考文献 - 例句二 + 义项二 * 参考文献 + 补充说明 ``` There should be no blank line between adjacent entries. ## File naming - Dictionary file names must use at most four syllables. - If a word has more than four syllables, truncate the file name to the first four syllables (still keep the full headword and full pronunciation line inside the en
