# A Visual Index: Remodeling Back Matter into a Browsable Quilt ## Overview *Seeing With Fresh Eyes* ch. 9 (printed **pp. 162–171**) is unusual among Tufte's chapters: it has almost no prose, because the chapter **is** the thing it argues for. It is the book's own source apparatus, rebuilt so that each cited item appears as a small picture of itself beside its citation, ordered by where it occurs in the book.
