# Case Study SEO Most case studies are written for sales enablement and published as an afterthought — a PDF behind a form, or a page titled "Acme Corp Case Study" that ranks for nothing and is read by nobody who wasn't sent the link. They're also the only content on the site that proves the product works. Making them findable is a small change with disproportionate return. ## What case studies can rank for Almost never for the customer's name. What they can rank for: | Query shape | Example | |---|---| | `[industry] [problem]` | "reducing warehouse picking errors" | | `how [industry] companies [outcome]` | "how manufacturers cut downtime" | | `[product category] for [industry]` | "inventory software for food distributors" | | `[specific method or approach]` | "cycle counting implementation" | | `[customer name] [your category]` | Only if the customer is well known | **Title them for the problem, not the customer.** "How a 40-site distributor cut picking errors by 60%" ranks and gets clicked. "Acme Corp Case Study" does neither. The customer's name belongs in the page, in the H2, in the schema and in the URL if they're recognisable — just not as the entire premise of the title. ## The structure that works ``` H1 How [descriptor of company] achieved [specific outcome] The outcome, stated in one paragraph with the number. Someone who reads only this should have the takeaway. A results box: 3-4 metrics with before and after. H2
