# B2B SaaS SEO Most SaaS content programmes are built backwards: a blog targeting broad informational terms, published weekly, measured in sessions. It produces traffic that doesn't convert and takes eighteen months to admit it. The pages that produce pipeline in SaaS are the ones near the decision, and there are only about five kinds of them. ## What ranking here actually looks like Open the SERPs before planning anything. In most B2B software categories you'll find: - **Head terms** ("project management software") owned by review platforms, listicle publishers and the two or three incumbents. Realistically unwinnable for a new entrant, and low-intent anyway. - **Comparison terms** ("X vs Y", "X alternatives") with a mix of the vendors themselves, review sites and affiliate content. Winnable, and high intent. - **Use-case terms** ("best CRM for real estate teams") dominated by listicles. Winnable with genuine specificity. - **Jobs-to-be-done terms** ("how to track sales pipeline") answered by blog content, increasingly with an AI Overview above it. - **Integration terms** ("X Slack integration") often barely contested at all. The pattern: the closer to the decision, the more winnable *and* the more valuable. Which is the opposite of how most SaaS content calendars are ordered. ## The pages that matter | Page | Intent | Why it matters here | |---|---|---| | **Comparison pages** (`/vs/competitor`) | Compare | Highest intent on the site, and heavily cited by AI assistan
