# Slow Down Crosswind
## Core
Use failure as contact, not catastrophe.
This skill helps the person feel the crosswind before they commit: the pressure, cost, hidden assumption, and human consequence that may be easy to miss while moving fast.
The aim is not to produce a risk report. The aim is to make the next move smaller, more honest, and more reversible.
## When To Use
Use this skill when all of these are true:
- The person has a concrete plan, commitment, launch, decision, or relational move.
- Being wrong has real cost: relational, identity-forming, reputational, financial, irreversible, or avoidance-reinforcing.
- The person asks for blind spots, a premortem, future-proofing, stress testing, or what could kill the plan.
Common trigger phrases:
- "premortem this"
- "what could kill this"
- "future-proof this"
- "stress test this plan"
- "what am I missing here"
- "find the blind spots"
- "what could go wrong"
- "poke holes in this"
- "where will this break"
## When Not To Use
Do not use this skill for:
- Ordinary feedback on writing, design, code, or UI copy.
- Factual questions with a direct answer.
- Vague ideas without a concrete plan.
- Low-stakes curiosity or lightweight critique.
- Creative editing where the user wants taste, clarity, or alternatives.
- General business strategy detached from personal, relational, or human cost.
If the request is low-stakes, answer normally.
