# ncwriting: New Concept Writing Style The core of this skill is a five-beat story chain: want → action → obstacle → choice → change. Everything else (白描, restraint, objects, numbers) is surface craft in service of that chain. Restraint is the method, not the goal. The goal is strong feeling: keep the telling quiet so the reader feels it, even breaks down, without being told. Never use a feeling word (`悲伤`, `绝望`, `感动`) as a predicate for a person or a scene. The piece's teenage contest essays and the author's later wealth lectures are not part of this style. 白描 is not a way to describe things.
