# Import and Export Trade Data Lead Generation
Customs and manifest data is the only public source that shows what a company actually ships, in what volume, from whom, and how often. Not what it says on its website — what physically crossed a border.
For anyone selling into supply chain, logistics, packaging, finance, compliance or sourcing, that's the highest-quality qualifier available.
## What the data gives you
| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Consignee | The importing company |
| Shipper | Their supplier, by name and country |
| Commodity code (HS) | Exactly what they're moving |
| Weight and container count | Volume, therefore scale |
| Shipment frequency | Whether it's a trial or a supply chain |
| Port of loading and discharge | Routes and logistics footprint |
| Date | Recency and seasonality |
| Vessel and carrier | Freight relationships |
**Shipment frequency plus volume is the qualifier.** A company importing forty containers a year on a regular cadence has a real supply chain and a real budget. One with a single shipment eighteen months ago tested something and stopped.
**The shipper field is the underused one.** It tells you who a company buys from — which means you can find every customer of a given overseas manufacturer, or every importer switching between suppliers.
## Where these leads live
