# Manufacturing and Industrial Lead Generation
Manufacturing has poor digital visibility and excellent physical documentation. Many firms have a website last touched in 2016, no social presence and no marketing function — but they appear on certification registers, supplier directories, trade show floor plans and customs records.
Prospecting here means using the industrial infrastructure rather than the web-marketing infrastructure.
## Who actually buys
| Firm size | Who decides |
|---|---|
| Under 20 | Owner or MD. Direct, but conservative |
| 20-100 | Operations or production director, MD signs off |
| 100-500 | Plant manager, engineering manager, or procurement |
| 500+ | Formal procurement, supplier onboarding, long cycle |
**Expect long cycles and formal processes.** Manufacturing buys capital equipment and systems on annual budgets, with a supplier approval step. A three-week sales cycle is not a realistic expectation.
**Job titles are function-specific and matter.** Operations Director, Production Manager, Quality Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager and Plant Engineer own genuinely different problems. Targeting "management" produces nothing.

| Industry-specific approval schemes | Aerospace, automotive, medical device suppliers | Very high |
| Trade show exhibitor lists and floor pl
