# Marketing Agency Lead Generation
Agencies are an attractive target because one deal brings many end clients, and a difficult one because they're sold to constantly and they know every tactic you're using — they run the same playbook.
The list that works is filtered on service mix and client load, not on the word "agency", which covers everything from a solo freelancer to a 400-person network.
## Who actually buys
| Agency size | Who decides |
|---|---|
| 1-5 (solo or micro) | The owner. Fast decision, small budget |
| 6-25 | Founder or MD, sometimes an ops lead |
| 26-100 | Head of Delivery, Head of Ops, or a service line lead |
| 100+ | Procurement, a long cycle, and usually a preferred-vendor list |
**The sweet spot for most tools is 6 to 40 people.** Big enough to have a real budget and a process problem, small enough that one person decides.
Solo agencies buy cheap tools and churn fast. Very large agencies have an incumbent and a procurement process that will consume two quarters.
## Where these leads live

| Award shortlists and winners | Real work, real budgets | Very high |
| Industry association member lists | Verified, current | High |
| Conference exhibitor and sponsor lists | Budget-holding | High |
| Client site credits and footers |
