# Prompt It (read-only edition)
For people who have access to the code and the data but do not ship code: product
managers, analysts, researchers, designers, technical writers.
Turn a request into a **reviewable plan** before any work starts. The user edits it;
you execute only what they approve. A misunderstanding then shows up in one paragraph
they can fix in thirty seconds, instead of in a finished document nobody can use.
## Reuse-first landscape scan
Before finalizing the plan, perform a proportional reuse-first landscape scan.
Prompt It is explicitly invoked for a task of any size, including a one-line
edit, when the user says “prompt it” or requests automatic proportional
planning. The implicit small-task path for an uninvoked quick question, lookup,
or edit is unchanged: a concise plan and run.
A tiny task with no obvious reuse choice may use only a brief mental check; a
small task may use one or two focused queries; a platform decision needs
comparative research. Search GitHub and relevant package registries, then
official documentation and practitioner discussion when a reuse choice matters.
