# Side lane Use at the start of an implementation task to discover and qualify optional model lanes, then route approved tasks through exact configured workers, including Prompt it staffing and explicit spend routing. Installation is optional: when the skill is not installed or no route qualifies, continue on the originating host and record the exception; when it is installed, assess it at the appropriate implementation task start, not only when the user explicitly asks for delegation. On an eligible execution request, run the documented host-specific `check-capabilities` and `recommend` assessment before deciding staffing, whether or not the user invoked Prompt it. The Side Lane assessment also runs outside the Prompt it workflow; follow the applicable proportional-planning rules. The assessment is not automatic dispatch and not automatic billable approval: a recommendation never dispatches a lane, and every existing gate still applies — host readiness, task eligibility and evidence, the user's existing task/delegation authorization, explicit execution approval, `--approve-billable-route`, capability grants, worktree isolation, and the preapproved-backup rules. Existing authorization covers the approved delegation; this assessment does not add a per-node permission prompt. If no route is eligible or an eligible route is unavailable, use the qualified preapproved backup under the existing availability policy when its conditions are met; otherwise continue on the originating
