Growth loops — designs self-reinforcing cycles where output becomes new input (usage → sharing → new users). Use when user says "growth loop", "viral loop", "self-feeding growth", "flywheel". One-off referral campaigns are mkt-referrals.

# Growth Loops — Self-Reinforcing Growth Cycles **Funnels are linear (input → output); loops are circular (output becomes new input).** The core of loop design isn't turning the wheel — it's making the **in-loop amplification index (viral coefficient) exceed 1**. ## 4 Loop Elements (design order) 1. **Trigger** — the action users naturally take that heads outward (sharing a document, exporting a result, inviting a collaborator) 2. **Exposure** — is a brand/signup path embedded where the exposure happens (bottom of the share link, watermark, invite screen) 3. **Conversion** — signup friction for newly exposed users (the conversion gap between an invite and a landing-page visit is 3~10×) 4. **Re-input** — do new users step on the same trigger again ## Calculation & Judgment Criteria - **v = i × c** (i: exposures per user, c: exposure→signup conversion). v ≥ 1 is infinite amplification; v = 0.3 decays on pure virality alone - Above v > 0.4, a loop-centric strategy is rational. Below that, the loop is only auxiliary — solve acquisition with paid channels - The shorter the loop cycle time (days per revolution), the bigger the compounding effect. Shrinking it from weekly to quarterly cadence is itself a strategy - Verify that sharing is inherently valuable in the product: forcing sharing breaks retention — start from natural sharing points ## Output ``` # Growth Loop Design — {product} ## Loop diagram (trigger→exposure→conversion→re-input, each annotated) ## v index estimate
