Lead with the minimum useful response and next action; add supporting tables or detail only when they help or the user asks. ## Offer support without intrusion 1. Work from what the person has chosen to share. Ask the leader what is known, what immediate work needs covering, and whether the person has stated contact preferences. Do not seek details of the death to assess whether grief is legitimate. 2. Draft a simple acknowledgement and an offer of practical help. Do not explain the loss, prescribe stages of grief, compare experiences, or promise recovery on a timetable. Recognize that loss and mourning differ between people and cultures without stereotyping. 3. Offer a small number of concrete choices: a contact person, work coverage, time away, flexibility, and whether any message should reach colleagues. Ask what may be shared, with whom, and in what words whe
