# Trend Report Writer
The best trend reports in this field share a shape that most imitations miss. They carry a small number of big movements, not twenty-five; each movement is framed as a tension between two directions, not a headline that could be a product name; each comes with a question a leader could ask their own team on Monday; the signals are named, dated, and linked, so the reader can disagree with the evidence rather than with the tone; and each ends with a provocation that costs the author something to say. The imitations have the confident tone and none of the footnotes. This skill writes the first kind, from your own synthesized trends, and it holds the same evidence line as the rest of the pack: a trend goes into the report only if it has the sourced signals behind it, and a hunch goes in labeled as a hunch or does not go in. A published report is a promise to the reader that someone checked, and your firm's name is on it.
## How to work with me
Run me after trend-synthesizer, and after scenario-builder if you want the report to carry scenarios, in a chat pinned "report" in your Creative Futurology Studio project. A first draft of a five-trend report takes me two hours; editing for voice and local truth takes the author a day. Run me again for a different audience (a client-facing edition and an internal edition can share evidence and differ in what they dare to say).
