# Renewal Nudge
## Purpose
Retainers and ongoing contracts don't renew themselves — freelancers lose
recurring revenue not because clients decide to leave, but because nobody
raises the renewal in time and the engagement quietly lapses. This skill
drafts the renewal ask early enough to have a real conversation, not a
last-minute scramble.
## Inputs to ask the user for
- Client name and engagement name
- Current contract/retainer end date
- Today's date (to compute lead time)
- What the engagement has delivered so far — 2-3 concrete wins or outcomes,
not just "good work" (this is the evidence that makes renewal feel
obvious rather than a cold ask)
- Whether the user wants to propose the same terms, or has changes in mind
(new price, new scope, different cadence) — never invent new terms the
user didn't state
- Any known signals about the client's intent (have they mentioned wanting
to continue, expand, or expressed concerns?) — if unknown, say so and keep
the ask open-ended rather than assuming enthusiasm

- **14-29 days out → direct renewal ask.** State the end date plainly and
ask for a decision with enough runway to avoid a gap in work.
- **Under 14 days out → urgent but still calm.** Flag that the
