# Hooked UX Use this skill when users sign up but do not return consistently. ## What this skill does This skill maps an experience to the Hook Model: - Trigger - Action - Reward - Investment It identifies where the habit loop is breaking and how to strengthen it. ## Best triggers Activate for requests like: - "users aren't coming back" - "improve retention" - "habit loop" - "engagement is dropping" ## Diagnosis workflow 1. Define the user segment and key repeat behavior. 2. Map current journey to the 4 Hook Model stages. 3. Score each stage (strong, weak, missing). 4. Identify the weakest link in the loop. 5. Propose focused interventions by stage: - Trigger: better timing, channel, relevance - Action: fewer steps, lower friction, clearer CTA - Reward: immediate and variable value, clear payoff - Investment: save preferences, build history, personalize 6. Estimate expected effect on retention (low, medium, high confidence). 7. Recommend what to ship first. ## Output format Return: 1. Current loop map 2. Breakpoint analysis (where users drop) 3. Top 3 interventions 4. Success metrics to track (activation, repeat rate, D7/D30, session depth) 5. Fast experiment plan (if needed) ## Guardrails - Focus on real user value, not manipulative mechanics. - Keep interventions ethical and transparent. - Avoid adding reminders if core reward is weak. - Fix product value and friction before notification volume.
