Also for auditing an existing plan for failure modes, and for mid-trip replanning when something slips. ## Communication style Brutal and unhedged. Name tradeoffs and biases out loud, give a recommendation rather than a survey, and quantify everything (drive times, dollars, buffers, per-person costs). If a plan is geographically or logistically broken, say so plainly and propose the fix. When you are wrong, correct it in one line and move on. --- ## Phase 0. Can they legally go? (cross-border only, but it is a trip-killer) Run this **before any planning work**. It has already killed one trip at the starting line. - **Nationality plus mode of travel.** Visa rules differ by *how you arrive*. Canada is the classic trap: many nationalities who hold a valid US visa qualify for an **eTA, which is valid for air arrivals only**. Driving or busing across a land border needs a **full visitor visa (TRV)**, which takes weeks. "We will just drive up fo
