# Evidence Source Check Use when a document contains statistics, quotations, survey findings, or citations that must be traceable before the document is submitted, published, or accepted. The output is a claim-level verification log. ## Why this matters Fabricated, misattributed, or stale citations are the single most common way a credible report loses credibility. Reviewers discover them; donors check them. A report with one invented figure is treated as a report with unreliable analysis throughout. ## Workflow 1. **Extract every quantifiable or attributable claim.** Build a claim register from the document.
