The fast path collapses discovery, plan synthesis, apply orchestration, post-flight checks, and failure diagnosis into one shell script (`scripts/update.sh`) on macOS, Linux, AND WSL2. The skill is a thin two-turn wrapper: turn 1 builds the plan and renders the approval gate; turn 2 runs apply and renders the report. brew metadata is TTL-cached (1h default) so warm runs hit the gate in <5s. v1.7 adds real Claude Code plugin handling: discovery compares installed_plugins.json against each marketplace's declared version so only GENUINELY-OUTDATED plugins are flagged (no more "update all 18"); apply refreshes the trusted marketplace git source (ff-only); and because the plugin cache reinstall has no headless path, the consolidated `/plugin update` command + relaunch is handed off as a manual step. v1.7 also adds an "apply all except flagged risks" gate option (drops categories a compat warning implicates) and a standing compatibility discl
