brand-profile

Solid

Use FIRST, before any other social media skill, to load or create the brand profile — the durable record of who a business is, who it serves, how it sounds, and what it will and won't say. Run this when the user says "set up my brand," "brand profile," "brand guidelines," "define our brand voice," "onboard," "get started," when work begins for a new business or client, or any time another social skill needs brand context that isn't already loaded. Works for ANY business: B2B SaaS, ecommerce, local and small business, agencies and their clients, personal brands and creators, and nonprofits. For writing actual posts, see the content skills; to derive a voice from an existing body of writing, use voice-builder; this skill only builds the shared context they all read.

# Brand Profile This is the foundation skill. Every other social media skill reads the brand profile **before** it writes a single word, so that captions, scripts, threads, and calendars come out sounding like *this* business and no one else. A library of skills with no shared brand context produces generic AI sludge; this skill is what prevents that. Your job here is not to fill in a form. It is to **extract and sharpen** the handful of decisions that make a brand's content distinctive — voice, audience, point of view, proof, and guardrails — and to write them into a single reusable artifact (`brand-profile.md`) that other skills consume. ## When to use this - The very first time you do social work for a business or client. - Any time another skill needs brand context and none is loaded. - When the user asks to set up, review, or update their brand, voice, or tone. - Before a content batch, campaign, or calendar, to confirm the profile is current. **When NOT to use this:** if a complete, recent `brand-profile.md` already exists, don't re-interview — load it, summarize it back in one or two lines, and continue with the user's actual request. Only re-run setup if it's missing, stale, or the user asks to change it. **Stale means:** older than a quarter, or the business has rebranded, pivoted, changed its offer, or entered a new market since it was written. ## Step 1 — Check for an existing profile first Before asking anything, look for an existing profile (`brand-profile...

brand-setup

Create or update the brand profile every other skill reads — a quick 5-question or full 17-question interactive setup capturing identity, business model, industry and compliance markets, 4-dimension voice scales, channels, goals, and competitors, saved to ~/.claude-marketing/brands/{slug}/profile.json via scripts/setup.py. Triggers on "/digital-marketing-pro:brand-setup", "set up a new brand", "onboard a new client", "switch to another brand", "update our brand voice". Also handles brand switching (updates _active-brand.json) and field-level profile edits; run this first — all marketing skills auto-apply the resulting profile, voice samples, and compliance rules.
